Provided by YPmobilei'll start by saying i adore a spot on long island i've been going to for years and compare all other japanese restaurants to it (kotobuki in hauppauge for anyone wondering).
ichiro is fine. the restaurant was bustling. you're greeted immediately with hot towels and water with lemon. the food is ok. i ordered the hibachi shrimp bento and for an extremely reasonable price ($19 i think) you get soup salad and bento. it was meh. i'd rather see some veg tempura over a bunch of edamame, but that WAS healthier and it's usually a crowed pleaser. i'm not interested in anything pickled and there was a few small pieces of pickled veg i gave to my friend. they had a "pending grade" which for sushi makes you wonder, but didn't discourage us because it's very popular in that area. i'll go back to try some rolls for sure. maybe i'll enjoy that more.
