I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 35 years experience providing child and adult psychotherapy. I received postgraduate training in child therapy at the Jewish Board of Guardians followed by analytic training at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health graduating with certificates in individual and group therapy, as well as supervision of the therapeutic process. I am currently on the faculty at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Study and have taught and supervised in New York and New Jersey throughout my career. I am also trained in the PACT model of couple therapy; an extremely effective method based on attachment theory and developmental neuroscience. As a volunteer, I work with trauma survivors of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan (with a simultaneous translator) and provide mentoring to young artists in Oaxaca, Mexico. (www.fofa.us) For me, psychotherapy has combined many passionate interests; a life of service devoted to the care of others and a deep curiosity about the workings of the human mind. In learning the art of psychotherapy I have developed a deep belief in the power of healing in the therapeutic relationship. I bring an in-depth understanding of child and adult development, family dynamics and the roots of depression and anxiety. My therapeutic work includes supporting individuals through life's many transitions: from childhood to young adulthood, to work, marriage, and divorce, children leaving home, parents aging, death and loss. If you come to see me, every session with me will include attention to your unique situation and careful consideration of the way your past has shaped your character and contributes to your symptoms, your present life circumstances and lifestyle habits. I am an experienced professional and there is no greater privilege than taking care of you. I will give you my most attentive, compassionate effort. And we will also have some fun! It doesn't always have to be grim and serious. I like to laugh, and I love my work. I have offices in New York City and 157 Engle St, Englewood, New Jersey 201-541-6888.
