I have been getting my hair cut at Jude & Me for years. From the hairdressers to the salon vibe, you would be hard pressed to find a better value or service in Manhattan. My favorite hairdresser is Renee. Her blowouts are excellent and she actually LISTENS and gives you the haircut you want. But, really, everyone here is top notch: super friendly and talented.



Skip the downtown salons and head right to this Morningside Heights shop.

I was recommended to Jude & Me by a friend. I was very happy with the haircut. The stylist Julie gave me the best haircut I've ever had. I will definitely go back there again.

My curly-haired friend raves about Rene at Jude and Me, so I went and have unfortunately ended up with one of the worst cuts of my life! I have thick kinky curly hair that has been tamed into beautiful chic bobs by several upscale expensive NYC stylists. Rene claimed to offer similar services at rates within my budget and my curly-haired friend loves her -- so I was excited to give Rene a try.



My friend who recommends Rene has a cute little afro. However I wanted a chic bob and brought in several pictures of myself with the exact hair cut I wanted and requested a consultation when I made the appointment so there would be plenty of time to explain. Rene was running late and tried to convince me I did not need the consultation. Against her wishes, I insisted Rene consult with me. What I got was three minutes of her time while standing in front of the sink. That should have been my cue to walk out. Despite my preparation and best efforts, Rene gave me the exact same cute afro hair style she gives my friend!



I am a Caucasian, 40 year old woman who works in a conservative office. An afro does not work in that environment and it is definitely not how I wanted my hair for my upcoming wedding pictures!!!!! It is cute, but not at all the cut I requested and so carefully explained.



Basically, Rene has ruined my long spiral curls by layering them from the scalp and creating instead, a huge frizz ball which she herself admits will take months to grow out enough to change styles. Despite acknowledging that I disliked the cut, she had absolutely no qualms about taking my money --- I only paid and tipped her because I do not want to cause problems for my friend who loves the afro hair style Rene gives her. Unless that���s the look you���re going for . . . curly-haired folks should not go to Rene!!!
