Dr. Neil Zwiebel has been a Manhattan podiatrist for over 10 years. Dr. Zwiebel obtained his bachelor of science in human development from Cornell University. After two years in molecular biology cancer research, he went on to receive his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. In 2002, he completed a two year podiatric surgical residency program at Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. His surgical training included comprehensive elective foot and ankle surgery, foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage, and trauma surgery of the foot and ankle. During his training he worked closely with the departments of general medicine, rehabilitation medicine, radiology, emergency medicine, orthopedics and vascular surgery. His extensive training included the reading of MRI's and CAT Scans.Dr. Zwiebel constantly stays abreast of the latest technology and treatment options through self-education, seminars, and research. Just in the past years he has incorporated EPAT (extracorporeal pulse activation therapy) for the treatment of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis and the Cool Breeze Laser for the treatment of toenail fungus. What makes Dr. Zwiebel unique is the time spent with patients to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Zwiebel believes that the most significant aspect of a first visit is getting a proper history of the condition and problem. Next, performing a comprehensive exam and ordering the right tests to accurately diagnose or find the severity of a condition. This then allows for the development of a comprehensive treatment plan and successful outcomes.
