The New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority ensures the continued supply and purity of New York City s drinking water and provides safe wastewater collection and treatment. The Authority provides funding that finances the capital projects through the issuance of bonds, bond anticipation notes and other obligations. Established by the New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority Act of 1984, New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority is a public benefit corporation. The Authority is one of three closely linked organizations that manage the water and sewer systems in New York City, N.Y. The other two entities are the New York City Water Board and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
