Park Ave ENT & Allergy Center

What makes the Park Avenue Sinus & Allergy Center (PASAC) unique? A private surgery center of unparalleled safety Park Avenue Sinus & Allergy Center has a dedicated private ambulatory surgery center that is fully accredited by both the AAAHC and the AAAASF for the highest possible level of patient safety. Typically no more than two sinus patients are treated at our surgery center on any given day, ensuring that each of our patients receives the highest possible level of individual attention. In our private ambulatory surgery center, our patients are protected from the patient mix-ups and hospital-acquired infections that occur at large hospitals. Experienced anesthesiologists The anesthesia team catering to our center consists of board-certified anesthesiologists trained at Columbia University Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center. There are no anesthesiologists in training at our surgery center– only physicians with extensive experience in handling patients with challenging airways. “Packing-less” nasal/sinus surgery The majority of nasal and sinus surgery patients say afterward that the most uncomfortable aspect of the experience is the nasal packing that is required. The insertion of the nasal packing right after surgery, and the removal of the nasal packing a few days later, can be painful experiences. At PASAC, we employ a technique that eliminates the need for nasal packing, sparing our patients unnecessary pain and discomfort. Fusion Navigation System All sinus surgeries at PASAC employ the Fusion Navigation system. The Fusion CT Navigator is considered the most advanced navigation system for sinus surgery, using harmless electromagnetic field technology to visualize the surgical field. It works like the GPS system in automobiles, allowing the surgeon to perform the most accurate and thorough sinus cleaning. Most importantly, Fusion Navigation strongly boosts the safety level of sinus surgery, which is a delicate procedure around the important structures of the head. Experienced surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Ahn, the director and surgeon at PASAC, has twenty years of experience in performing sinus surgeries. He has operated on over 4,000 patients with an excellent safety track record. Dr. Ahn has also served on the faculty of Columbia University Medical Center for twenty years. Microdebrider system with built-in cautery At PASAC, we use a microdebrider system with built-in cautery that minimizes post-operative crusting in the nose, allowing for the shortest possible recovery time from sinus and turbinate surgeries.
