Started in 1995, The Salk School of Science provides educational opportunities for students in grades six through eight. The school s curriculum includes math, foreign language, humanities, reading, social studies, writing, physical education, and fine and performing arts. In addition, it offers guidance counseling and speech therapy services. The Salk School of Science operates a parent-teacher association that conducts meetings and conferences and organizes field trips. The school provides a range of sports activities, such as tennis, basketball and volleyball. It maintains a cafeteria that hosts book fairs. The Salk School of Science offers special education classes for gifted and talented students.
