In addition to its headquarters in New York, the company maintains offices in more than 40 countries throughout the world, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Greece, Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom. SONY BMG Music Entertainment is 50 percent owned by Bertelsmann A.G. (BMG's parent) and 50 percent owned by Sony Corporation of America. The company is comprised largely of the recorded music labels of Sony Music and BMG, but the music publishing and manufacturing operations remain separate.
