Provided by YP.comI’ve been hearing constant extremely loud drilling and hammering from the apartments surrounding mine, for over a year. Its so constant, and has been going on for so long, that the only logical explanation is that someone is operating a business of some kind out of their apartment.
Its coming from the "front side" (facing east, away from the river) of the sixth floor of 375, but given how long it's been going on, i wouldn't be shocked if it’s happening all over the place, in all the buildings.
This has been going on for over a year. I am not joking. I am not exaggerating, though I wish i was. It goes on for hours. Every. Single. Day.
A couple times it continued until very late at night. Ive even woken up to it.
For over a year.
I've spoken to the doormen. They've just been yes men. It's still going on.
Probably just going to move out soon at this point.

Almost all Gateway apartments have a nice harbor view, but it comes with the price: the building is old and window insulation is literally non existent.
The built-in a/c units are not insulated as well, work poorly and maintenance people will do nothing about it.
They will whisper you "get an indoor heater, it will be cheaper".
After I got 2 heaters to warm my one bedroom, my electricity bill is about $400 a MONTH.

Provided by YP.comWors apartments ever - only worth there living if you fall under rent stabilization. All the residents who lived there before 2009 got their leases secured through 2020. Pretty sweet. If you are newcomer, prepare to pay market price. One bedroom will set you $3500, you better look around and cut nice deal in better newer buildings around. I lived there for several years and moved to Boston. I talked off a few of my friends from getting apartments there - they thank me now as most people scream at their leases increase. You can get much better deal for your money.

Provided by YP.comThese apartments became as expensive as newer building around and not worth the price. A bunch of people who live there still hold their rent controlled privileges so they will never complain. Prepare to shell out additional $400-$500 doll a MONTH during October-March. The heaters are electric and old. The walls and windows are not insulated, you will be seeing chunks of ice coming off the windows during the winter. If you dare to complain you will hear: "We are sorry, all our apartment have this problem".
