Because of the typical BS associated with brokers, I have been stuck paying for a hotel after moving out of my last place. I watch the real estate pages constantly for a new listing & I was first to call on one Lena Simpson listed. Days before she told me the tenant doesn't move out until Tue-Wed, so it will be Thur. when I can see it. She confirmed this in email & I replied a conformation back. Thur. I take the subway to the property, 30 mins waiting & she is not there. I had my phone in my hand the whole time & I called her. She asked if I got her email? She said she was at the building the day before but couldn't get access. The email she sent was after I had already wasted my time & money getting to the property, so too late. She asked if I got her text, she never texted me, she lied. She never tried to call. I had to ask her numerous times, "Were you trying to show the apartment to others yesterday when I was told I had to wait until Thur?" She danced around the question & finally confessed saying someone called her yesterday wanting to see it so she tried to do that. Instead of contacting me first when I had been waiting all week & now sitting in the lobby, this is the BS she pulled! Then she had the nerve to ask me to come back between 2-5PM.

I complained to her manager Elaine Dean, who acted like she was being bothered & said she had a call on hold. She shouldn't have called me if she was too busy & what Lena did was so unprofessional, Elaine should have tried to make it up to me instead of acting like I was bothering her. That's not the first broker in that association that acted unprofessional & brokers need to learn, your games, your ads you refuse to say are already rented to bait someone in, not being courteous to return calls or email & your phony photos only makes you look like an idiot. NYC is the worst location when it comes to brokers, they expect us to pay them, yet they are scum. Also, just pulling up a list from streeteasy & emailing it instead of taking the time to make sure the listing are real, still available or what I asked for is lazy. I'M PAYING YOU! I end up doing most of the work. Also, do not recommend craigs list. YOU are idiots to recommend that. I hope one day NY people stand up to the BS these brokers play & sue the hell out of them because there needs to be some serious changes in their lack of ethics.
