Provided by YP.comMy friend had just returned from Europe to her New York apartment.
Because of a misunderstanding, Verizon disconnected her landline.
I lent her my T-Mobile prepaid Nokia to tide her over.
She needed to add minutes to the prepaid phone, so her Doorman suggested that she go to Unique Wireless, because of it's located two blocks from her apartment.
She said they insisted that she must replace my sim card at a charge of $35.00, before they could add a $25.00 prepaid card to the phone.
My phone was not locked.
When I called directly T-Mobile by telephone, they stated that, even though I had not given her the PIN number to the account, a prepaid card could be directly to the phone.
I do not understand why Unique Wireless could not just sell her a T-Mobile $25.00 prepaid card and apply it to my phone.
Instead they insisted that she must purchase a new T-Mobile SIM card for $35.00 from them first, before selling her the $25.00 prepaid card she needed, and they didn't even give her back my original SIM card.
If she went to a real T-Mobile store, she could have bought an entire T-Mobile prepaid kit for $20.00, which would have included a wireless phone, charger, and SIM card, but that wouldn't have even been necessary, because they would have just sold her the $25.00 prepaid card, and applied it to the SIM card that's in the phone already.
I do not advise anyone to go to Unique Wireless for their needs with T-Mobile prepaid service.
