I came to NY for a dream vacation and decided to make it one I wouldn't regret. So I chose to stay in the historical Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Well when I checked in I was truly impressed by the grandeur of the hotel lobby. However, upon getting into my original room which was upgraded I noticed that all I could hear was the street noise from the adjacent hotels limo service. After relocating to a new room which seemed to be better at first appearance but that was further from true. The rooms climate control would only get hotter and not cool down and when I inquired about it I was told that I could only turn the heat off and open a window, which someone would have to come and open, because it was a historic site. My third night I could hear the conversations of the guest in the next room as they casually discussed their day. I am truly disappointed that I paid extra to upgrade my room and then discover that I have had better stays in the Hampton Inn.
