We used to go here often-not because the food was exceptional, but because it was convenient. After a recent incident, we no longer support this establishment. I received an order of chicken egg foo young. After arriving home to eat it, I found 2 burnt patties. I called to advise them of this and to my amazement, the lady who answered the phone yelled at me, called me a bad customer and hung up on me. I returned to the store, with burnt patties in hand. She made no apologies, but returned my money. I suggested she might want to refrain from being so disrespectful to her customers. I remained calm and controlled throughout the phone conversation and in person at the restaurant. I am really surprised, as we have purchased food from this place numerous times. If she had simply acknowledged that the food was not edible and provided a replacement, I would still buy food from here. Since she felt the need to be verbally abusive and never offer an apology, I would be foolish to continue purchasing food from New Number 1 in Newark, DE.
