I have recently had trouble with my Jeep and Al from R&M has really helped me get it running right at a fair price. It is great to have a place I can trust my car with. The shop gets back with you fast and explains exactly what is wrong in easy to understand terms. Will be using them for everything.

Finally, I have found an up front and honest mechanic! Al is great, friendly and humble, he is completely transparent about everything before doing work on your vehicle. His prices are fair and he will print out prices and quotes for all the work you need on your vehicle and does not pressure anyone. His work is fast and accurate. Had a flat tire today and he had me in and out in under 30 minutes! Highly recommend!

I found R&M to be upfront and accurate about the work that needed to be completed. Their pricing was fair and they complete their work on time which is very much appreciated. I have used these guys twice now and I want to say they are excellent. A fair price, exceptional customer service and most of all....When the repair is done... IT is DONE. A complete job for the price they quote you and the service is quick, thorough and COMPLETE. I recommend R & M to anyone out there looking for the rarest of companies.... a company that stands behind their work, for a fair price and quick service. If they set up an appointment, they meet that appointment. Also, on my latest repair, R & M was good to their advertisement of either picking you up or dropping you off, within, a 15 mile radius. They did that just this morning. USE this company and find out for yourself how it is NOT to be jerked around. Al & Mike will continue to get my business..

Misleading business that charges wrongly. Every other car repair shop will inspect, ask and then do the work. They mislead on price, do the work and shock you with a massive price bump

The guys at R& M auto were very quick and saved me alot of money compared to other auto shops. .

We took our sons car to be diagnosed and repaired. They quickly determined the problem and repaired it within 24 hours. I believe they charged me a fair price for the work they did and very quickly resolved our problem. We will return.

Recently moved to Newark. Found R&M online read reviews and decided to let them repair my car.



I was pretty sure what was wrong with my car. Mike & Al came to the same conclusion. Within minutes I had a written estimate, work began and parts were ordered. I was told it would take a couple of hrs to finish.



Got a complimentary ride home, and 2 hrs later the repair was complete. They also inspected my car and found some service items they felt should be performd. They honestly told me the work didn't need be done right now. Had one of the service items performed while car was already at the shop.



It's good when mechanics look at your entire car, not just current problem, and give an opinion of the car's mechanical condition. Some mechanics will tell you your car needs more work without letting you know it doesn't need to be done right now. Honest mechanics help you make an informed decision! R&M Automotive is an honest shop!

Our daughter is a student at The University of Delaware and she resides there. We live permanently in Southern New Jersey. Our daughter text us at 1:30 in the morning telling us that her car wouldn’t start. After telling us that her lights, etc. still worked but that nothing happened when she tried to turn the key, we kind of figured that her starter went bad and that a jumpstart wouldn’t help her at this point. She was in a safe place thank God so we didn’t have to worry about her safety. My husband immediately began searching online for a reputable mechanic in her area and he came across R & M Automotive where he found several positive reviews and recommendations. We told our daughter to call R & M first thing in the morning to see if they would be able to service her car if she had it towed there. She spoke to Mike who assured her that he would take care of her and made her feel comfortable about bringing her car there. We spoke to Mike and Al periodically throughout the day and Mike explained everything thoroughly and didn’t make us feel like we were imposing on their busy schedule. He gave us a price on our service needed, which was fair and comparable (even though we wished it was less) to other estimates we found online for the same service and he assured us that our daughter’s car would be finished that day. We have a local mechanic who we use and love however we will definitely be using R & M for our daughter’s automotive needs while she is away from home. I love coming here! They are honest and their rates are fair. To top it off, speedy! They have squeezed me in when I was in a pinch. They walked me back to show me my brakes and recommended when I need to have them done. You're missing out if you're not servicing your vehicle here!! Keep up the good work -Laura

My daughter was driving through Delaware (from Virginia Beach!) and her alternator suddenly went out! I can't count my blessings enough that I came upon R & M on-line: when I called them, they suggested to get her to their shop immediately; keep in mind this was like 3 in the afternoon!...They "troubleshooted" the problem correctly, got the part in (on a rush), and at 5 pm I got a text from her that she was back on the road! Nick and Al treated her as though she was family...what a relief to find an honest, caring and reliable mechanic so far from home....Any other place, I am sure, she would have had to get a motel and would not have gotten to her job at Jacob's Pillow (Massachusetts!) by the next day.......5 stars and more!

Last night my right front brake suddenly started making this horrific grinding noise. I called R&M at 8:15 this morning and explained my situation. I was told to bring my car right in. Since I live right around the corner, I was there10 minutes later. My car was immediately put on a lift and the the problem diagnosed. Everyhting that caused the problem requiring the repair was THOROUGHLY explained to me, and being the daughter of a General Motors gearhead, I knew I was being told the truth. I was even taken back to look at the damage that had been done to my rotors by inside brake pads that were worn down to the metal. By 9:00, new pads were on my car and I am returning in a week to have the calipers and rotors replaced. And the fee was is so reasonable! As a woman who has been taken advantage of in the past by local mechanics. R&M is such a comfort knowing I can now depend on fair, honest and superior quality workmanship that I would HIGHLY recommend to everyone without hesitation. R&M, you are lifesavers and look forward to returning next week!

Hands down the best repair shop i have ever had to go to! They do excellent work for reasonable prices, this is now the only place i will take my car and i recommend the shop for anyone i know that needs car repairs!!

I had my first experience with R&M Automotive and am sure that I will never go anywhere else for service ever again. They were kind, efficient, affordable, and most of all, made me feel like a CUSTOMER. Far too often we find ourselves in a position where we feel like we are "bothering" employees when all we want is service. NOT HERE!! Thank you Al! I wish I could encounter someone like you in all my consumer experiences!

I live in Smyrna and bring my cars to R & M Automotive. Al, Mike and Joe are great guys and keep my vehicles in tip top condition. The trip from Smyrna is well worth it. Thanks guys for doing such a great job.

This place is the best. My car has had a lot of problems in the few years I've had it, and I've taken it to a lot of different places. I found R & M by chance in the spring, though, and now I won't go anywhere else. They're quick, they're professional, and best of all, they're nice guys!

Quick service & quality work

I would never refer even my worst enemy to this so called repair shop. They told me I needed rear brakes in which I had them repair.They also did a (free) inspection and informed me that i was going to need more work on my car. They said I needed a tune up, oil change and that my engine was knocking. i told them i would check with my Dad first and get back to them. I just had a tune up done at the dealer in June! My boyfriend took my car back to dealer who verified that I just had all my plugs,filters changed. The Porter dealer also said no repairs were done to the rear brakes and front and rear brakes were fine! I plan to file a claim with the Better Business Assocation
