Mr. Gatlin was my mom attorney for serious traffic violations. She risked the chance of serious fines and losing her driver license. My mom was just recently diagnosed with early onset of dementia. She was already depressed about the feeling of losing herself and not being aware of things. When she was served by the sheriff department. She was terrified she will lose her license. She drives to Harlem every Sunday to go to church that she’s been going to for years. All of her best friends are in Harlem and the Bronx. I knew if she lost her license it will kill her. We decided to get a lawyer. I wanted someone local who was familiar with Newark courts and also someone amazing. I found Husain Gatlin, who also had an impressive resume. We booked an appointment immediately. Ironically, my mom got lost and he happened to help her. They never met! When she found out he was going to be her lawyer, she said, “ oh I like him already!” The first court date was pushed back per Mr. Gatlin request. He wanted more information and the driver who hit my mom car to come. Second court date he got the charges dismissed. My mom literally cried when she got in the car. All she said was “I’m so thankful for him I can drive to church!” He is an amazing lawyer with compassion and a great deal of understanding.
