Opened in 1999, New Horizons Community Charter School provides educational programs to more than 500 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school operates a library that provides accessible reading materials for a range of interests. The library promotes reading and library skills through specially designed activities and programs. New Horizons Community Charter School s curriculum includes reading, physical education, music, language arts, English, math, science, social studies and basic skills. The elementary school also organizes a variety of extracurricular activities. Located in Newark, N.J., New Horizons Community Charter School has a parent-teacher association that sponsors various events and activities.
