I needed a key for a "universal" switch for a lawn tractor. I had lost mine, and I needed it that day. Although the one I needed is used on maybe 90% of older tractors, the counter woman told me I needed a make and model number, and she'd order it. I walked out into what seemed to be their "bone yard" (out in the open out back) and found two of the key I needed on one tractor. I took it one of those into the store and said, "how about you order another one for that tractor (I gave her the make and model) and you sell me this one. That's when the man sharpening chains "went off" on me. He acted like I'd violated someone's daughter. After yelling at me for quite a while, he went to the parts bin, found precisely what I needed without any make or model numbers, and told the woman to sell that to me. No acknowledgement that what I'd asked for was, indeed, a common stock item easily available. Not my idea of attention to good customer service.
