I had a very disappointing experience on Thursday 9/1/16 fishing on the Free Lance out of Davey's Locker in Newport Beach ,Ca. I was told that the trip would cost $105.00 because it would be a limited load of passengers .So that you could have room to fish . there was 55 people on the boat and almost every time you cast out someone line get tangle up. the deck hand end up cutting your line or you spend 20or30 mins before you can get back into the water. I have went fishing out of Davey's locker many times before ,That's why I don't fish on weekends, it was so crowded people are casting over people. I don't mine paying the extra money for the benefit of being able to fish with less people. I feel like I didn't get what I paid for. I lost 2 fish that was hooked on my line, but the deck hand end up cutting my line because it was tangle with many other lines..The worst part of the day is someone stole my fish from my bag.the worst trip ever.

These guys are really professional and the trip was awesome. Highly recommended.

While in Southern California ( six months minimum yearly ) I fish on the Freelance on 3/4 day trips. I have never seen BETTER vessels, Captains, and Crew, CONSISTENTLY, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD !!! Whether I catch anything or not, THE FUN IS UNFORGETTABLE. I dream and daydeam about it the rest of the year and I LOOK FORWARD to the NEXT TIME !!!!!! Don't EVER change one thing !
