The office of the Newport Beach Chief of Police is a part of the Newport Beach Police Department. It is a full-service law enforcement agency that provides services through a process of identification, analysis, solution and assessment. Located in Newport Beach, Calif., the police department has various divisions, including a criminal investigation department, special investigations unit and technical investigation unit. It oversees a neighborhood watch crime prevention program that enlists an active participation of citizens in cooperation with the police department. The office of the Newport Beach Chief of Police also governs the teen academy that offers students programs in areas, such as SWAT, K-9, narcotics, major crimes, patrol and helicopter operations, traffic laws, firearms, driving under the influence and other related fields.
