Provided by YP.comDo not trust the veterinarians at Newport Hills Animal Hospital.
Dr. Whitaker and Dr. Lyle both failed to diagnose a simple bladder infection that my dog had. After bringing her in several times for issues indicating a possible bladder infection, both of these incompetent veterinarians told me that my dog was fine and charged me nearly $400.00 each time that I brought her in. She eventually developed toxic blood poisoning and died a horribly painful and agonizing death. As consumers, we trust people who hold themselves out to the public, as professionals, to know what they are doing in their chosen profession, and there is a certain implied trust. These incompetent and negligent individuals overcharge, misdiagnose and Dr. Lyle's default answer to almost anything that he cannot figure out, is that your pet probably has cancer.
I have spoken to three people in the past week who were told by Dr. Lyle that their dogs had cancer when, in fact, they did not have cancer. That is what Dr. Lyle told me the day before my dog died.
The fact is that this is a business to these individuals and they are not very good at what they are presented with beyond giving routine vaccinations and selling flea medicine.
Buyer beware.

Provided by YP.comI am with an animal rescue and a potential adopter insisted on bringing the dog to her vet, Dr. Whitaker so I went with her to the appointment. Not only was Dr. Whitaker rude, he also gave irresponsible advise about protecting pets from coyote attacks which are common to the area. Dr. Whitaker also advised her of all the services she should have for the dog if she adopted her, none of which do anything but put more money in the pocket of Dr. Whitaker and do nothing to support the health of the dog. He then proceeded to take my dog in the back for a fecal exam and ended up drawing blood from her jugular vein without informing me or asking consent from the current legal owner of the dog, our rescue. Our rescue uses Arbor Animal Hospital in Irvine and they have a wonderful staff and I have always received excellent service. They care about our animals, always communicate very well and have never treated me with the rude and superior attitude of Dr. Whitaker. I would never adopt one of my rescue dogs to anyone who chooses this place for their pet care.

Provided by YP.comI live close by and have been bringing my dogs here for a few years, mainly for small things such as nail trims and such.
I do not trust Newport Hills Animal Hospital with any major needs for my animals, because I have tried this and ran into a sales pitch. There service upfront is not professional and I have been mislead on 2 occasions. There prices are double what you will pay anywhere else for vaccinations. My dogs were provided UNNEEDED service for the sheer sake of profit, this is prototypical for a vet in this type of location. They HAVE on 2 DIFFERENT occasions provided added services to my animals WITHOUT my consent, or even a phone call to inform us on what they are doing. I literally was left for the fun when paying my bill @ checkout.
Overall, this vet disgust me and is garbage/trashy. I will not support this type of practice and refuse to bring my dogs there EVER again. If this were my practice I would take a long hard look in the mirror and try to practice something called ETHICS/HONESTY. The good things are as follows: clean inside, nice fish tank, cool coffee machine, and that is about it. I do not come to a vet to have some fancy coffee and look at a fancy fish tank, I come to get genuine loving care for my animals. I will not be coming back and I have "four words" for anyone thinking of trying Newport Hills Animal Hospital... RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!

Provided by YP.comTruly disappointed, after reading a lot of the good reviews of loving care and compassion by others. I've dropped off my dogs here many times and a few times my bill has always been higher than expected. My last bill ensured it was my visit at NHAH.
At times they perform services without my permission and I am left with a bill. My dog was given shots (without my consent) and added services that were not requested or confirmed with me. If you do decide to go here, I recommend you receive an estimate in writing prior to dropping off your dog... I don't want anyone ending up with an unexpected bill.
Service - snobby and stand-offish, I totally agree Michelle R's review. Rude receptionist upfront (esp. the blonde foreign one with the bangs) will ensure you feel rushed out the door. My family has been blessed to find a more affordable and better vet right around the corner. I can not recommend it here...sorry guys.
