We met Dr. Cohen and his team when we were on vacation and our 15-year-old Jack Russell was in distress. We truly thought we would be saying our good-byes to our furry friend. We phoned the veterinary clinic closest to where we were staying and they were "too busy", so we called THIS wonderful clinic and not only could they see us, but they called back 15 minutes after we booked an appointment to let us know they had a cancellation and we could come in right away.
Dr. Cohen and his compassionate staff were phenomenal. They were able to stabilize our dog and make her comfortable. Once we returned to AZ, out little girl improved and is still with us. We understand she is a senior dog and we are into bonus days, but if it were not for Dr. Cohen and his team we would have already said our farewell.

The Best Of The Best

I have to confess that Dr. Cohen is the ONLY vet that I have used since 1970. At that time, I had a cat who was difficult to treat and I was told by several vets that I should put him down. Dr. Cohen saved the day and the cat lived to be 18 years old, thanks to Dr. Cohen.

He is an excellent diagnostician, much of his work is from other vets who don't have his training or expertise or even really care about the pet or the owners. Everyone that I have referred to him have made him their permanent vet. When I drop one of the dog's off for anything, I know that they are in the best possible hands. I trust him implicitly.

The staff is courteous, professional and quick to ask if you would like coffee while you wait. I only wish that I could find a physician for myself that I felt as comfortable with and trust like Dr. Cohen

This Doctor is Smart, Hardworking, Dedicated professional.

I haven't had a pet of any kind for many years and I took my dog to various vets over the last 8 months until I was told (wrongly) by a local guy that my Labrador Retriever had hip problems called dysplasia. My dog had never had a problem walking, running or jumping for the ball. My breeder far away in San Diego recommended I get another opinion and to go see "Dr. Jeff Cohen in Newport Beach" and then I asked another Lab person and they said "Dr. Cohen in Newport Beach"---seems they have an amazing reputation. I really enjoyed the experience--the staff was great and although they were very busy, they served me coffee and helped ease my mind. This doctor couldn't have been better! The other vet's x-rays were not straight and Dr. Cohen showed me easily on his x-rays that my dogs hips were okay and just to be sure, Dr.Cohen sent them off to a place to be certified and they came back "Excellent." When I think that another vet wanted my pooch to have unnecessary and expensive surgery she didn't need---aaaargh! This is now my regular veterinarian forever and my dog loves going in to this place. I'm just so happy I found Dr. Jeff Cohen and his great team.

it's been 3 weeks and still no word!

I have been to this once in the past for xrays of hips on our BC. The office is very clean and the staff are very friendly. We did not meet with Dr. Cohen as there really was no need at that time. Recently we went in for more xrays, hips and knees and back as our BC at times would limp. Again very clean office and a great front office staff. This time we did meet with Dr. Cohen was very polite and gave us the time of day where our dog was concerned. Upon several xrays the Dr. reccomended blood work so i agreed even though our pet does see our regular vet on a regular basis.

He also wanted to send the knee xray to be read by a radiologist. Well 3 weeks have past and no follow up from the doctor, or his office about the knee xray or the blood work. We dropped over 800.00 and feel that we probably paid for several phone bills of the good doctor, so why were we not given a call? I could not tell you, i have called the office twice and still no info on the expensive tests given by the good doctor. no news can be good news, and it can be neglected news as well. Maybe there is a good reason, I do not know but i probably would not go back or reccomend for the lack of follow. We also drove all the way from San Diego not that that means much, but we thought we were getting the best. The "YOU get what you pay for" is not always the truth.

Still waiting in San Diego!

We very much appreciate that this client came AGAIN from San Diego to see us. We appreciate the kind things said about our hospital and Dr. Cohen. In fact, this owner was represented an "agent" (the actual owner did NOT come to our hospital) and it was the agent that we communicated with that the many radiographs (X-Rays) would be sent to a Specialist Radiologist at the OFA (Orthopedic Foundations for Animal) for a detailed review even after Dr. Cohen gave his opinion and reviewed the X-Rays in detail with the agent. We took many radiographs of damaged joint WITHOUT ANESTHESIA the pet would likely have been given elsewhere saving the owner hundreds of dollars. The agent was indeed advised it would take several weeks to get results from OFA but it was worthwhile and the agent agreed. Dr. Cohen wanted all the results from the various laboratory tests and x-ray reports before recommending a course of action which could have varied from anything from surgery to conservative medication care. We did indeed convey this information initially to the agent sent by the owner and again when calls came into our front office staff. We absolutely understand the anxiety pet owners feel but this was a chronic condition going on for months (maybe years) untreated. Dr. Cohen did indeed follow through when all the information came in from the radiologist, recommending a course of treatment, and sent copies of all records, data, & reports to the owner. We are sorry if there perhaps was a miscommunication between the actual owner of the pet and their agent(?) but it would have not been in the best interest of the pet to make decisions on only part of the information. Best wishes for the ongoing health and joy of this beloved dog.

Our Trusted Family Vet

We have taken our pets to Dr. Cohen for many years and have always been happy and felt secure when they are there overnight when we go out of town. We can only praise this vet hospital and all the extras they always provide us and our animals.

Highly Recommend Newport Beach Pet Hospital

Dr. Jeffrey Cohen is a great vet and his hospital is a cool place for pets. His hospital is nicer than the doctor where we take our kids. After trying all the vets in the area, my wife and I are so happy we found this place and have been taking our two dogs and cat there for almost 5 years now. No place compares. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
