Huntington Middle School, established in 1924, offers education to more than 900 students in grades six through eight. It is affiliated with Newport News City Public School District and offers a curriculum that includes English, mathematics, business studies, foreign languages, arts, science and physical education. It also provides vocational education to students that include carpentry, manufacturing and technology. The school has athletic teams participating in various cross-country, football and basketball tournaments. It also organizes various students related activities and clubs that include school newspaper, dramatics, book and garden clubs, choir and concerts.
