Well, the only thing I found pleasant about my time at these apartments were the new office staff. I stayed here for my full lease and only because I couldn't afford to break my lease.
I know that downtown is a bad neighborhood, but I can't tell you enough how dangerous and scary it was living there... I had police officers shoot someone within a block from my home. Over this past winter the were 6 sexual assaults within a ten block radius. The cops came by to tell any women living in the area to avoid going outside alone. There was a young boy shot and killed three lots down as well, his body found in an empty lot..
The apartments weren't well taken care of. And the original management staff didn't keep track of paperwork very well.. They had to do my move in inspection twice because they lost it.. I had mice in the winter time, there was a HUGE hole in the closet where the hot water heater resides that was never filled in properly. I had to stuff a towel along the door to keep the mice from coming into the apartment. Every time it rained I had large water bugs walk in under the front and back doors.. I complained numerous times, to have pest control out there and my doors weather stripped again.. More than half of the work orders I put in were never done. However that didn't keep the maintenance guys from saying that they were.. The one time they did come and spray for the water bugs and they left the key to my apartment in my door...
If you can afford to live somewhere else, please do yourself a favor and stay far from this place, the peace of mind is worth it.
