St. Michael's Country Day School is an independent, nondenominational prekindergarten through grade eight school. Located in Newport, R.I., the school offers a variety of academic, art and athletic programs. Founded in 1938, it provides classes in Spanish, French, mathematics, English, science, art, physical education and history. St. Michael's Country Day School includes a preschool and lower and middle schools. It also offers day, sports, theater and enrichment camps. The school additionally provides classes in art, music, band and theater. It has an athletics department that offers soccer, tennis, basketball, lacrosse and basketball.
