Do not rent from here. The owner/manager is not an honest individual. The website is a scam. The "economy car" I rented was posted on the website starting at $25.99 for local use. I ended up paying for $39.99 per day. The contract I signed stated to stay local (which according to the website was only $25.99/day) and only to surrounding counties, however, I advised the owner I was going to Boone, NC which was not a surrounding county and he seemed to be perfectly fine with that. Plans changed, and we went to the beach instead. Given the owner was okay with me going to a non surrounding county, and the contract I signed stated "unlimited miles" I assumed that would be no issue at all. Especially considering I was paying $14 more than the local rate listed online. The car I received smelled of smoke and had a minimum of 20 burn marks.

I returned the vehicle before it was due with more gas in it than received. I called after dropping off the vehicle to ensure every thing was good to go. I was then informed $60 of my $100 deposit would not be returned, because I did not stay local. I was curious how the owner knew that. He advised me the vehicle had Onstar. I checked online to see if a 2016 Ford Fiesta had Onstar, it doesn't. I was being tracked without my knowledge; that was not listed anywhere in my rental agreement/terms or conditions. It was also not listed that a fee of $20/day would be taken from the deposit if the vehicle did not stay local. He did not even try to contact me to advise me he would not be returning my $60. I was lied to on multiple occasions, tracked and scammed. I have reported this agency to the BBB due to false advertisement and additional items. In conclusion, a 2016 Ford Fiesta with burn marks ALL OVER the interior cost me $59.99/day. It is certainly worth finding a different option for car rentals. Economy Car Rental is a terrible place of business, and intentionally tries to scheme their clients.
