For the second year in a row I have scheduled my annual physical with Leeward medical in Niceville, FL and for the second time they refuse to code it as an annual physical and I end up having to pay for an appointment that should be paid for by my insurance.

I have paid them hundreds of dollars the past 6 months without issue but when I call you and tell you I am coming in for my annual physical and the blood panel that goes with it, and I tell the nurse when I get there that it is just my annual physical and then I tell the doctor when he enters the room that it is just my annual physical - I expect you to code it correctly.

Instead the doctor spends 3 mins with me, asks ME various rapid fire questions based on my chart history, and then makes his own recommendations and the whole appointment is over before I blink - then he turns around and codes the appointment as various diagnostic codes and I get slapped with a $100 bill. When you call and speak with Kristen she just blames it all on the insurance company and tells me and I quote "you literally can't say anything to the doctor or the insurance won't accept it as an annual physical appointment." So I am supposed to just sit there and tell him "sorry, I can't talk to you in order for this appointment to be paid for".... sorry, why don't you just code the appointment correctly as an annual physical instead of trying to blame the insurance company - it is not that hard. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last year and gave them a second chance but I will no longer be going to this doctor nor will I ever recommend his practice.

Icing on the cake - they schedule me for a follow-up appointment to go over my blood-panel results and typically when doctors make you come back in it is because there is a problem..... nope! they made me come back in and pay another $100 just so he could spend another 3 mins with me to tell me my blood panel was PERFECT. This could have been a phone call from his nurse.
