There's a 1k character limit so this will be short. Do NOT rent from Jonah Mitchell is you plan on getting your deposit back. With the off the top 25% the owner keeps no matter what you basically have to never spend a day/night in your rental. I got denied the remaining 75% of my deposit because they had to paint(after two years) and move the trash can to the curb. Yup, not a single piece of trash inside, all in the can but wasn't at the curb. The paint, if you know anything about paint was a cheap builders grade FLAT paint. Basically if you breathe on flat paint it will smudge. This paint is engineered to last 1yr tops. That's why it's cheap and classified as "builders grade." Given my expertise in paint I would have a great standing in small claims court however I'm too busy for that. Guys, gals it's a sham. They also will blame it all on the owner. "The owner denied our deposit." Haha it's laughable really but if the deposit Is a serious thing, don't rent from them.

Jonah Mitchell Property Management is the WORST possible place from which to rent. I rented from them and was told nothing but lies the entire time I dealt with them. If you don't know anything about Jonah Mitchell, he wants to be a politician in Nicholasville (he's run for office and lost), so he is a "yes man", meaning he tries to gloss over everything and pretend like he's going to take the best care of you. That is, until you attempt to point out the lies/ gaping holes/ inconsistencies he tells you, and then he becomes a condescending jerk and acts like you're the idiot.



Our property was poorly taken care of, and poorly managed. When we asked for things to be fixed, our requests were ignored unless the issue could have affected Jonah Mitchell financially. Only then would he actually send someone over to work on it... but you never knew when someone would be coming, or what they had worked on when they did come. Will they need to come back? We wouldn't know unless we called and asked. I've rented for years and never had to deal with a more frustrating landlord than Jonah Mitchell.



Part of the issue is that Jonah Mitchell doesn't seem to actually employ any maintenance workers (I think he might have a couple guys that aren't qualified to do much more than paint). Almost everyone is contracted... and he doesn't want to spend any money on the upkeep of his properties, so he is hesitant to ever contract anyone to work on anything... hence nothing ever getting fixed.



It isn't fun to live with half the things in your house broken. It isn't fun to be lied to. It isn't fun to be treated like a second class citizen.



When deciding where to live, I ignored a couple bad reviews on the internet about Jonah Mitchell Property Management, assuming they were written by a couple disgruntled tenants who were merely the exception. I severely regretted ignoring them.



Jonah Mitchell is a modern day slumlord, and doesn't care if his tenants live in squalor, so long as he keeps getting a rent check every month.
