Not sure about the restaurant, but the bar service sucks. I wanted a steak because I heard so much about them, but sat down at the bar. I ordered a beer and the bartender walked off before I could ask for a food menu. After 10 minutes of waiting, I decided to leave. It took 15 minutes to get my tab. If you want food,I suggest get it to go.

Best Spencer Steak west of the Mississippi. Got it have it. BUT, the 2 to 3 hr wait is unbearable and inexcusable. Even with reservations, there always seems to be a period of inexcusable wait. I've had my wait right by the door and I see how almost dozens and dozens of customers leave because they are told the wait is at least 2hrs. Insane. Management should recognize the size of their customer base and look at maybe physically expanding to the right of the business just a bit so that that their throughput is a bit more manageable. Heck, I would even eliminate the Ice Cream serving at the end of the meal which adds easily 10-15 minutes of a longer stay. Awesome Steaks, Great Servers, miserable waiting lines.

Traditional Santa Maria style cooking over a real wood burning BBQ. Delicious food and fun atmosphere. Great service.

Really great place. The sandwiches are absolutely to die for and the service is always top notch. Been going here for years.

I love love love this place. I grew up in the area, but moved away. Everytime I am home I make it a point to have dinner there!



I prefer to go for dinner b/c they BBQ on the oak pit in the evenings, and I order the steak sandwich from the pit. If you go at lunch you can get the steak sandwich, but it is not cooked over the pit, while it is good, it doesn't compare to the one cooked on the pit.



Awesome beans, bread, salsa, ribs...I could keep going, but you get the point...

I was born and raise in the area and always took Jocko's for granted. Been in the SF area for 24 years and tried many steaks houses around the world! NO OTHER RESTAURANT BEATS JOCKO'S for steaks! The Spencer steak cooked over oak is beyond words. Tender, juicy, even if it's been cook well. Great salsa, beans, and tasty french bread. Even on to go orders nothing is missing from the quality. It's noisy, crowded, and the reservations slip upwards to 30 minutes, but the food is WORTH IT!

One of the best steak houses around. The bar is very friendly and has a "cheers" atmosphere. The drinks are poured generously. Get there early!
