The Physical Therapist (Art) has an impressive Biography; please be aware this description of professionalism does not make him a professional. He promoted himself as a Christian but his actions did not reflect that. I started PT with Art for a Femur injury. Art requested that I wear shorts since he would be performing a technique called "skin creeping" and he would need skin exposure to my right quadrant/flank area. I was uncomfortable with this level of exposure but I followed my Therapists request. My pants would be pulled low and my glute exposed. The covering provided during this procedure was not substantial as I later learned. I was very uncomfortable with this procedure but trusted my Therapist, thinking he knew best for my injury. At my last session, he made a descriptive comment about my glute area that was hurtful, inappropriate and very unprofessional. Shocked, I turned and looked at him. As a professional and as a Christian he was very rude. I reported this incident to Senior Management and they said they would talk with him. They did not respond appropriately for such an unprofessional act.

Please be aware that this request could be made and if you feel uncomfortable, prevent this from happening by stating your level of discomfort and request other techniques to be performed. I thought the Emory name would bring a professional environment with high standards. It did not.
