I have been meaning to go into Ace Hardware since I moved to the Norfolk area to check prices on some items. We received a grill from my in-laws and with it a refillable propane tank that is larger than the ones that you can exchange. We checked with a few places to try to find a place that would refill a tank. My husband called Ace and asked if they would refill a propane tank for a grill, in those exact words. The employee told my husband they did. Based on that phone call we drove the half an hour into Norfolk to get the tank filled so we could grill for dinner. Once my husband got there, they informed him that they do NOT in fact refill propane tanks and insinuated that it was HIS fault, citing a "misunderstanding." Apparently, there are two places in Norfolk that actually refill propane tanks, and neither are open on Saturdays, so the trip into town was completely pointless with gas at almost $4 a gallon.
