Worst Experience Ever

I have attended more than 30 funerals in my lifetime. I am 73 years young. I have made funeral preparations for 4 close family members.

This latest experience was handled in the most unprofessional, undignified manner at Woodlawn Funeral Home. We scheduled an appointment with the available undertaker. We asked for the person that did my mother-in-laws prearrangments and was told they were no longer with the company. We asked about another person that we knew, and was again told, they were no longer there. We came in about 20 minutes before our scheduled time to meet the undertaker. The office staff seemed to be hurried and uncaring and rushed us into an office. We waited approximately 10 minutes and finally a girl came in claiming to be the owner. She seemed more like she wanted our money than to care for our loved one. After about 20 minutes of wasting time, she then had another person take over. They were rushed into all of the buying decisions, yet the paperwork took an eternity. This funeral home was chosen them because of the location and convenience. We will use another location if we need services in the future.

I have been to several funerals at this funeral chapel and there never seems to be the same faces. There is always someone new. I have been to other funeral homes and you see the same people each time. In passing, I asked the worker that did the cemetery arrangements and she said " they cannot keep employees, they run them off!" Is this professional behavior? What is wrong when a company cannot keep employees? I have talked to my local undertaker and funeral home people typically stay on the funeral home employment roster until death or retirement. There is something seriously wrong with a funeral home that run's employees off.

Take my body back across the bay. I do not want to be resting where there is never the same face.
