Provided by YP.comI read a few reviews on other websites and decided to check it out for myself.
We had 2 rooms side-by-side at this hotel/motel for 2 nights while visiting New York City ---Sept. 28 + 29, 2009.
It is a bit difficult to find because it is built on the side of a hill, right before a major freeway on/off ramp, but if you have GPS, it lead us right to the building. The parking lot is a little difficult to maneuver with a mini-van and does not wrap around the building. The front desk clerk was nice but a little curt and not very talkative; but it was after 10 PM when we finally arrived. We started talking to him and asking questions about the hotel and area, and he softened up.
there is no elevator in this two story building. the rooms are located on outside walkways, and not very secure, but we didnt mind. Although you can hear the rush of cars from the 2 major freeways nearby it didnt bother us.
There is a free breakfast 6-9 am: 3 kinds of cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, make-it yourself fresh waffles (the batter and a waffle maker!) , pastry, 4 kinds of juice, coffee, and hot water for tea.
In our room the ac/heater was not working and it was very humid outside so we cracked the window. The next morning we told the front desk about the ac/heater and they flipped the circuit breaker so it was working again.
In the other room we had, the bathroom door was squeaking very loudly and needed to be oiled. In the morning we told the front desk and they said they would send someone. When we came back 16hrs later, it still had not been fixed. They sent a repairman up to look at it, and he said there was nothing he could do (no WD-40, or spray lubricant available??). We sprayed our Hairspray on it, and that seemed to provide a "quick fix".
The rooms didnt smell and seemed to be clean. They did change the sheets and wipe down the bathroom as expected.
we would stay here again, and recommend it to someone looking to save money, and needs a place to sleep and shower.
