Provided by YP.comI had the unfortunate luck of having my car towed by this company after I totaled it in an accident. The customer service I received was nothing short of appalling.
Because my car was totaled I was stranded at Billerica PD until a friend came to pick me up and didn't make it to Stan's until 5:10. However, there was a car parked outside the shop and a man inside counting out money from the day at the desk. I apologized that it was after 5, but explained my car had been totaled and I wanted to gather some of my belongings if possible. The guy immediately started giving me attitude. "Well what time is it? It's after 5pm. We close at 5 on the dot!" I said I understood this, but further explained I had been stranded at the police station because I was waiting for a ride. He told me some BS line about how he didn't own this business and he didn't have the keys to the lot . When he made this remark I asked, "Isn't this a 24 hour tow service? Is there someone else I could call?" He refused, said I'd have to come back tomorrow. I explained again I understood it was after 5, but that I lived more than an hour away and now had no vehicle to get back to Billerica. He continued to give me attitude, "Well why couldn't you get here by 5?! Didn't you call earlier?" I said yes, it had been me that called. "And what did I tell you then? I told you that we close at 5! Why couldn't you have gotten here by 5?!" I explained again with was because my vehicle was sitting TOTALED in their lot and I had to wait for a ride. Then he started asking me what I even wanted from my car. I said my belonging. "Oh yeah? Your belongs? Like what?!" I said I a GPS in the car, along with important papers and other personal belongings. At this point I so frustrated that I pointed out that all my windows were busted out from the accident and that it was raining and I wanted to save my belongings so they didn't get ruined. Begrudgingly he took me through the garage and let me into the back lot. They whole way berating me saying, "He was sick of people taking advantage on him." At this point I'd had enough and told him I didn't think asking to recover MY belongings was taking any advantage of him. He continued to insist I was taking advantage and being a huge inconvenience. He told me I had to run to my vehicle and collect what I could as soon as possible and then kept yelling at me to run. I was able to collect some of my belongings the first round, and carried them back out through his office. He asked if I got everything and I said no, I hadn't been able to carry the items from my trunk. He said I could go back, but barked at me to take my crap out to the waiting car & not leave it in the waiting room. I then brought my friend (who'd been sitting in the car outside waiting for me) back in, asked if she could help me. He said fine, but "no sightseeing" that again we had to run. We were able to get most of my belongings but we so rushed that some things got left behind. I also cut myself on broken glass and torn metal on vehicle while trying to frantically collect what I could. This man continued to harass us in a condescending tone as we were trying to leave, "Did you get everything?" I responded, "I think so." "that's not what I'm asking you, I'm asking you if you got everything." "I got what I could." "Well you have to tell me. I need to know these things." He was still marking remarks to us as we left the office. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a garage. I understand I came in after hours, but I was polite and civil with my requests. Despite the fact this man gave me nothing but attitude from the first time he opened his mouth I continued to be polite and even thanked him form his time. A business who lets employees treat customers with such vile behavior should be nothing less than disgusted with themselves.
