Provided by YP.comHad my '14 Mustang GT here for some maintenance work (header gaskets and motor mounts) and a dyno tune. Excellent communication throughout the process, and when they checked my header gaskets they reported that they were just fine and my exhaust leaks were elsewhere. I appreciated the honest work, and I was able to get save some money on the work and get the real exhaust leaks sorted at a later date. The dyno tune has been great, a huge improvement over the Bama email tune I had been running for a while. Will be coming back soon for new injectors and a tune modify for E85. Definitely recommenced this shop for any performance modifications or maintenance needs! They're honest, they know what they're doing, and they clearly love their work. Glad to have a shop in the area that I can rely on to understand and care about my vehicle as much as I have.

Provided by YP.comKenny S... If you are going to leave a review, please make sure it is as accurate as possible.
You brought us a truck that you had at two other shops who you claimed could not get it to run. You were not able to get it to run either after you admittedly blew it up the first day you got it. The carb was trashed, the original pressure regulator was wrong, and the fuel system was an absolute mess.
When you came to us you started off with an attitude about the other shop - which should have been a red flag for us. However, we still attempted to help you.
The vehicle estimate is dated 8/29/19 and the $866 payment that you made when you decided to pick the truck up INCOMPLETE was on 9/20/19. Not sure where you get 6 weeks from?
We diagnosed the vehicle, replaced the alternator with a chrome unit, replaced the fouled out plugs that were in it when it arrived, supplied and installed a NEW fuel pressure regulator that worked fine (as you actually admitted), repaired your fuel pump wiring, set base timing, etc. We were waiting on our tuner (of which you know personally and knew of his backlog ahead of time) to get you on the dyno when you decided you wanted yet ANOTHER person to work on and finish the truck.
We remained in constant contact and you defied nearly every suggestion we had. How can me provide a good running vehicle if you will not let us do what needs to be done? The other two shops had the same problem with you doing the same thing - as we found out after the fact. We even noted that you used the incorrect shims when YOU installed the starter. Luckily it was just the bendix that was hurt and not the flywheel.
So yes, you paid your bill for the work we completed and elected to take the vehicle unfinished. Literally a couple of days before your scheduled dyno session.
We're sorry that we could not help you and hope you got it all worked out!

Provided by YP.comBad experience-
I drove 1 1/2 hours from a military installation to take my car there in good running condition for a simple rebuild, in which all parts were already supplied by me. (Pistons, rods, bearings, gaskets etc..). A job that should of taken 1-4 months tops ended up being around 10 months total. They had my car from March 2017-December 2017. I feel they take in more customers/projects than they can handle with a staff of 2-3 mechanics. All services on my car was paid for in advance or when requested by the shop manager (Stupid of me). Customer service was below sub par, and did not keep me in the loop as promised. They hydro locked my engine back in September 2017 which caused headaches, wasted time, and excuses as to why. This in turn led me to terminate all services and take my car/parts away from this shop and bring it else where. In December 2017, I took my engine to a local machine shop and after further inspections, the machine shop reported back with findings of a cracked block. I would not recommend doing business ever again with CPS, but if you must good luck.

Provided by YP.comExceptional work, professional and insightful. I highly recommend Charleston Performance Solutions and will be returning for additional upgrades. Charleston Performance Solutions recently installed a new Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Kit and lightweight flywheel into my 2004 Acura RSX. The new clutch feels unbelievable, the car has seen a significant increase in acceleration and is running strong. Thanks to Matt and the entire Charleston Performance Team. Excellent work, great pricing and the car was ready on the date promised.
5 Stars all around!

Provided by YP.comUnfortunately, the review below isn't quite accurate, as the ZO6 referenced was built for the previous owner and ran flawlessly for the 8 months he owned it. Once traded to the new owner it succumbed to a WOT missed shift days later, which resulted in PTV contact, a broken valve, and then a broken piston. When asked to help the NEW owner, we offered, but were threatened with extortion if we didn't send "x" amount of dollars by a certain day. They then went and tried to rep bomb us to hurt our business. We have picture proof of the messages, damage, files, videos, and texts. It really is a shame when someone does such a thing.

Provided by YP.comSo here is my personal and truthful experience with Charleston Performance Solutions in Charleston South Carolina.
The ZO6 was built and finished in July of 2016, it had a small build done to it for "BOOST" or the previous owner thought.
The ZO6 had 2100 miles since the build was completed, the build included new pistons, rods, BTR stage 2 cam, valve train a tune and a sweet 12 inch ruler...
So from the begining i had my doubts with the build and the tune due to the fact that it only made 500whp and didnt want to race or push the car until it was retuned. 2 days after the trade i had a cel light come on with a misfire code.I immediately stopped pulled over and noticed coolant exit from the exhaust. I had it towed home and that night we took the heads off.
What we saw was stumping me and my friends, we saw peppered piston heads across the board and scorn cylinder walls.
Bank 1 had a broken valve, not a dropped valve but a broken one which i later found in the exhaust. I removed the motor and had it all sent off to my current builder along with the heads.
when he took the motor and started dismantling it he noticed:Ring gap was incorrect, pistons were 4.125 but the cylinder were honed to 4.125 instead of 4.130.The pistons were starting to get too hot, there was massive detonation and knock, and to our surprise when he removed the oil pan he found a 12 inch plastic ruler laying in there right next to the dry oil sump. instead of CPS righting their wrong CPS decided to blame me, saying i over rev or missed shifted, and that im not the original owner so it has nothing to do with me. But the fact is that the assembly of the motor was wrong from the beginning and the tune was wrong from the beginning, and that there was a foreign object in the oil pan. Those are the facts. I am no longer asking for them to right their wrong. This is merely a personal experience from a build that was done at their shop and now i have to pay to get fixed.
