This was indeed the worst experience we have EVER had with an American Home Sheild technician. He was rude, slammed doors, yelled at me to the point that my husband had to come and intervene. This was the WORST experience. Never again.

The management and plumbers were very polite and experienced. We will most definitely use them again!

Tried to clearly extort me. Came out via American Home Shield and at first misdiagnosed to problem (2nd floor shower leak to downstairs) to be grouting in my shower. Then AHS sent them out again after I got grout fixed but problem still existed and I found out myself that it was the drain.

2nd time they came out and expertly agreed with my assessment. Then they "found" additional issues (non covered ofcourse) that would cost $300 (cutting floor board a couple inches wider). Clear extortion attempt and completely unethical.

Called a couple recommended plumbers and both said it was a joke after they saw it and that the whole thing (let along the floor board cutting) would cost half that.

Maybe its a problem in part with home warranties (not paying their contractors enough and thus giving them incentive to find other problems to bill customers for in an effort to recoup costs) but if they have this particular company come out to you then I would urge you defer to another.

Spring 2015: leak in my upstairs bathroom. Their "plumber" looked around and told me I needed to caulk around some areas in the shower (he didn't do anything himself and told US to do it). Another contractor found and repaired the actual issue (the toilet leaking).

Summer 2015: sewage ejector pump failed and was not covered under warranty. Told me it would cost $1500. When they arrived with the pump, I decided to do it myself because the pump only costs $200 at Lowes! They then HID the model of the pump from me so I wouldn't know how much it actually cost. They tried to take advantage of my crying wife since we didn't have water and saw $$$.

I've told my home warranty I refuse to use them any more. These people are untrustworthy, lazy and find opportunity in the urgency of your repairs. Avoid using them in the Richmond area. I'm only just now writing this review because I have a new issue and my home warranty was trying to send them back to my house.

At least they arrived on time...
