The Tides Estate was highly recommended by a close friend. After my first on-site visit and viewing the beautiful grounds, I was positive that this was the place I wanted to host my once-in-a –lifetime wedding reception! When I visited the property in late January to select the menu options, I noticed the facility was under construction, which I was not warned about when selecting the property months prior. I specifically asked the event manager (Tom Austin) about the construction and my concern that it would interfere with my wedding reception. Tom insistently reassured me not to worry since construction never takes place on weekends due to the heavy wedding schedule at The Tides.

On Saturday, March 15 when I arrived on-site for our wedding reception I immediately noticed the crane parked in the parking lot. Next, I was surprised with the sight of workmen on the building, a tarp across portions of the facility and obvious construction not only taking place on a weekend day when Tom insisted it wouldn’t be, but construction was occurring on the front of the property and would immediately be noticed by my wedding guests. My day was ruined from this point.

The cuisine was delicious and plentiful, and the Maître D (Mike) was amazing but all of those things were overshadowed by my terrible experience with this construction. Even worse, during my reception I had to request on multiple occasions that the Maître D speak with the workmen because you could literally hear drilling and hammering over the sounds of the music, speeches, toasts and dinner. I was humiliated.

Heads up to all Brides & Grooms!

My husband and I recently had ...

My husband and I recently had our wedding at the tides in the upstairs room with about 160 people, and it was everything we ever wanted and more! We went in there looking to book at date a year later and they had an opening 3 months away, and we took it! We received soooooo many compliments about the food, and fortunately we were able to have our ceremony outside on such a beautiful day. Tom Austin helped us throughout everything, was extremely professional, helpful throughout the entire process, and was just a laid back cool guy. I have to say everything was close pretty perfect....the only negative which wasn't a big deal to us would be the look of the cake wasn't exactly what we pictured...but thats nothing in the grand scheme of things. We are so happy we chose to have our special day there!
