Brescome Barton is one of the largest wholesale distributors of spirits, wine and beer in the state of Connecticut. The company markets a portfolio of more than 7,000 products, represents 120 suppliers and holds an active account base of more than 4,500 beverage licensees in Connecticut. Its product portfolio consists of more than 59 major brands of Scotch, 71 brands of Bourbons and Whiskies, 24 brands of Gins, 40 brands of Vodkas, 48 brands of Rums, 51 brands of Cognacs and Brandies, along with an assortment of cordials. Its wine lines represent many wine producing areas in the world and offers a variety of types and styles. Brescome also provides its clients with promotional materials, including wine lists, drink menus, shelf talkers and case cards. It was formed as a result of various acquisitions, including the purchase of Johnny Barton and Capitol Liquors in 1974, General Wines and Liquors in 1977 and Brescome Distributors in 1995.
