I recommend you stay far far away from the North Hero Marina in North Hero, VT. The owner, JIM, is a real jerk. I had rented a boat a month in advance, packed up 8 people in to two cars, made the trip to the Marina on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. When I arrived I said "I rented a boat". I was told by the owner that he had shut the marina down for the day. I did not receive any phone call of the marina being shut down. When I commented that I hadn't received a call, he flipped out on me saying sarcastically "I feel real sorry for you!" then he stormed out of the building like a two year old and as he walked in front of me said "Stop being so petty". And that was it. I was left with my jaw wide open not understanding why I wasn't going out on the boat with the other 7 people waiting excitedly for our trip out on the lake. No assurance that I wasn't charged for the boat - and noone to discuss that with because the owner, JIM, had just stormed away. Not a good business man. And very very mean and scary. STAY AWAY. I recommend Apple Island Marina in South Hero. The owner there tried to accommodate us, but he didn't have anything available. However, he was very nice. We ended up going out with Waterfront Boat rentals in Burlington. They were AMAZING!!!
