Provided by YP.comI feel that I am a very laid back person and can let most things just roll off my back.... however I can't let this one go.
I run a small business that prints 500-2000 pages per day. I have been using Brother printers because they are little workhorses.
A couple of months ago I bought another Brother printer, because the volume of work had picked up.
The printer developed a problem that needed technical expertise to fix. It was still under warranty, so I called Capital Datacorp... they said bring it in. They were listed as an authorized representative for Brother.
When I brought the printer in they seemed very vague in response to questions that I had. Finally after several questions they responded that they were only fixing the Brother printers "as a favor to Brother". That they really didn't have to do warranty work because they had big government contracts.
That left me with a bad taste in my mouth... and I was wondering if it was in my best interest to leave my printer with that type of attitude being prevalent at the reception of the customer service dept.
I went ahead and left the printer for them to take a look at. About 20 minutes later a technician called me, he asked me to buy a new toner cartridge because he was unsure if that cartridge was good or not... I told him that we had several of that exact same machine and we had taken a complete drum and cartridge from one of our other working machines and put it in to see if that fixed the problem... it hadn't, the same error message came up.
When I told him that he got very animated and told me that if I didn't want to do as he said I could come and pick up the machine. Then he repeated that statement a few times. The tech had the air of being with the company a long time.
My clear impression was that they were riding on government contracts and could care less about the general consumer.
I went and picked up the printer, they gave it back without batting an eye.
