The North Kingstown Police Department is a law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and property, maintains peace and order, and reduces crime through education, prevention and proactive police services. Its administrative services division is responsible for the management and coordination of planning, budgeting, purchasing, personnel, training, internal affairs, records management, computer and technology services, and fleet and facilities maintenance. Located in North Kingstown, R.I., the North Kingstown Police Department maintains a youth services bureau that conducts special classes on school safety, evacuation of schools, police issues, first licenses, bullying and sexual harassment. The department supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior.
