The North Little Rock School District governs more than 20 elementary and secondary schools. Its curriculum includes several subjects, such as art, English, math, music and physical education. The district also offers vocational courses related to architecture, agriculture, video technology, health science, hospitality and information technology. It additionally conducts special education classes for students with learning disorders. The North Little Rock School District promotes participation in athletic programs, such as basketball, baseball, cross-country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Its child nutrition department serves morning and afternoon meals. Established in 1901, the district serves over 9,000 students and is accredited by the North Central Association.
