Having owned well-trained dogs all my life, I joined Midwest Dog Training in 2007 to team up with the founder. Having good success with Midwest Dog Trainingâ??s system, I decided to dedicate my livelihood to training dogs. Since I purchased it in 2009, I have successfully trained well over 2,000 dogs. A lot of the success is due to my comprehensive follow-up lessons to the dog owners. We show how to effectively train for commands as simple as Come, to conditioning a puppy to get used to its new family and environment. I use psychology and a natural approach to dog training. Understanding the psychology from the evolution similarities and distinct characteristics of the breeds is also important.

Amazing!

I picked up what seems like a brand new dog from Midwest Dog Training! My 20wk old husky was jumping, barking constantly and knew almost no commands. I couldn?t take her on a walk because she would just take off running, pulling me behind. Since her three week board and train she walks great! She knows commands, and no more bad habits. Chris and Brian did a great job caring and training Lilly. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs a positive change and the tools to maintain it.
Thanks again guys! Amazing

BEWARE!!!! THIS MAN KILLED OUR DOG!!!!!

This man, due to nothing more than his own negligence, killed our dog. He decided it was appropriate to leave our 9 month old puppy in a hot car until he overheated and passed away. There is absolutely no excuse for this sort of behavior.

The owner of this business has fully admitted fault and should not be allowed to touch any other dog for the rest of his life.

If you care about your pet, there is absolutely no reason you should entrust this man with its care. We will be pursuing legal action to make sure no one else will lose their pet to this man's negligence.

very bad experience

We received terrible service when we asked for some help 2 weeks after our dog came home and she was not listening again. We had asked if there was something that we could work out for all the things that she was said to be doing and has not done after we have practice EVERYTHING that he taught us to do to help her transition into being back home. When the trainer picked up our dog he told us that he was not boarding animals anymore due to the dog flu going around in South Dakota. Come to find out that was a lie...When he dropped our dog off SICK with kennel cough the truth came out. He said, "oh yeah i have some dogs that I'm boarding and one came in sick and now I have to treat a lot of dogs." I'm not a fan of people that feel the need to lie to make their customers feel safer about sending their dogs off to training. We contacted him to have him help us train her to listen yet again and he got very defensive and told us that we were not following the training at home and all this. When he never asked us what we were doing at home, and he said that WE as the owners of the dog needed to be trained. He threatened his lawyer to us when all we were doing is asking for help and maybe some compensation for our dog coming home sick and not doing everything that his website has said she was promised to do when she came home. His site says your dog will in 3 weeks: ComeSit on commandLay down when toldGo to place and waitBecome potty trainedUnderstand bounderiesCope with separation anxietyControl there aggression w/people and dogsIn 3 weeks your dog will stop:Aggression IssuesStop Jumping on People/Counter SurfingStop NippingStop DiggingStop MouthingStop ChewingOur dog does NONE of these things unless you say it about 10 times and use the shock collar that she came home with on a very very high setting. We have no issues with using the collar or anything like that and we work with her everyday, but yet she does not do any of these things. He says that it is our fault that she does not and I have a hard time understanding that since we work with her daily and as much as we can everyday. There is supposed to be a lifetime guarantee on what we paid for, but now that he threatened his lawyer at us I'm not sure we will get that service we paid for. I have never met someone so unwilling to work with someone and so defensive when you say that the training is not working for the dog. He immediately jumped and said it must me us because his training is flawless. He does not listen to what you as the customer has to say, it is all about what he wants to hear and that you as the customer are in the wrong not him as the trainer...when your dog still will not listen! I just think it is really funny that someone says one thing but their service shows differently and when they are asked about it they say it is your fault. I WOULD NOT recommend this service to anyone that is looking for a good company to work with because he is defiantly not someone that is easy to work with at all. Just thought people should know the type of service to expect when using this company.
