A Vacation for your mouth to Mexico!

This is a SUPERB Mexican restaurant, owned and run by authentic Mexican emmigrants. This food is like their mama's made, so this is NOT like the "American-type" Mexican food (ala: Taco Bell, Taco Casa, & Jalepenos). This means that EVERYTHING is prepared like they make it down in Mexico. For example, the tacos have the lettuce and tomatoes on the side, and NOT crammed into the top of the taco shell. Also their refried beans are the way they are made in Mexico, NOT like in America! Their refried beans are one of my favorites on the menu!

Their homemade table salsa, and bottomless tortilla chips really whet your appetite for more! The salsa has just the right amount of heat, without being painful, but makes your taste buds crave for more!

Every dish my family has had was fanatastic, tasty, very delicious, and freshly prepared. The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. The last health report I heard about was one of the best in the whole city! The ONLY problem is they have a teeny tiny parking lot they inherited with the property, which fills up quickly. But they make the most of it. But there is an empty dirt field across the street, and their parking lot is connected to the parking lot with the store next door. I hope someday they can expand, both the dining room, and the parking area. They fill up fast at lunch and dinner hours, so get there early!

I always judge just how good an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant's food is by it's chicken enchiladas. Theirs is SO good it reminds me of the world-class famous Sanborns in Mexico City, ("the house of tiles"), near Belles Artes theater in Mexico City. Their decor reminds me of a tiny but wonderful little "mom & pop" restaurant in downtown Gualdalajara, Mexico, near San Francisco Park.

Lupe's is like taking your mouth on a QUICK vacation to the BEST of Mexican restaurants! Their prices are extremely reasonable, and affordable. Great family place! They have also added a few coastal Mexican dishes (Mexican seafood) to the menu, as well as other Mexican regional dishes.
