My friends and I order from Mae's all the time!! The food is always hot, delicious and exceptional quality. The prices are very low considering the size of the servings. They offer everything from HUGE SALADS to Hamburgers for Children to 'Sunday Dinner' Fixins ..you know that only your Mama or Big Mamma could make!! I love fresh vegetables and their fried green tomatoes and field peas are my favorites. I know their Cajun Cabbage recipe belongs to the family!! Banana Pudding is hands down the best dessert.
The staff...they are so friendly and accommodating. They assist you above and beyond what I have experienced of any restaurant I have been to since moving to Tuscaloosa. Hospitable, Kind, and Efficient Service!! The ambiance in the restaurant is warm and accommodating even for children. Some days they may run out of a certain dish but it is bc we get them early, hunie. The food is soooo good!! I know your experience will be as positive as ours has always been. If you can't travel, do DoorDash or Grubhub. I don't know if they will be back on UberEats but you can check. Call in and Pick Up is good too. Enjoy!! Some folks say Bon Appetite. Here in the south we say, "You better get you some of this good food! You know you're hungry!!" LOL BTW: Support Small Business Owners bc you your support the Communities when you do. P.S. they do catering on holidays. Yummy 😋

Very friendly employees, small restaurant, and food was good even though they was out of chitterlings and dressing which are two of my favorite foods.

We ordered to go plates from Maes for work. I was blown away! The fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve ever eaten and the pinto beans are just like my grandmother used to make them! Give this place a try if you want true southern cooking!
