THE GUEST HOUSE The rest is history. We’re proud to have completed the restoration of the 1750 homestead at 93 East Avenue – a property that is rich in history – to its original grandeur in 2013. According to historic records, in 1724 Samuel Grumman purchased the property at Grumman Hill, known as Rail Hill at the time. The first record of a house on the property is in Samuel Grumman’s will, in 1750, leaving it to his son Thomas Grumman and his wife Deborah (Deolf) Grumman. In 1779, following General Tryon’s orders to burn Norwalk, the house may have been partially or completely burned. Over the next hundred years, the property was the home to many noted Connecticut families, including the Buckingham-St. Johns, and the Bush and the Hoyt families. During the 20th century, the home was owned by the Nagys, the Eriksons, the Singewalds and the Wiegands. As a tribute to its long history, each suite in the newly renovated Guest House bears the name of its former owners.THE GUEST HOUSE The rest is history. Good Food

Good food here. Good service.
The rooms were fine, too.
But we really enjoyed the restaurant. We never would have known about it if we hadn't stayed here.

Excellent Property, Excellent Value

An excellent property that I would recommend to anyone. Between my rental car being messed up and my airline losing my luggage I was absolutely fried upon arriving to the hotel. When asked if I needed luggage assistance and told them my luggage was lost, the front desk person without me even asking upgraded my room for me to make my stay more pleasant and got working on directions for me to a nearby mall so I could get some supplies for the evening.

Room service was not just great, it was excellent! My room was clean, had a spectacular view overlooking the city sky line, something I never saw before. The bed was heavenly comfortable, over 60 channels of TV, wireless internet, newspaper, and complimentary h2o in the fridge is always a nice touch.

The restaurant was priced reasonably, and offered a nice variety of dishes. The Italian dishes were quite a surprise in quality and the linguine in white clam sauce was outstanding. The steakhouse/restaurant was also outstanding, my ribeye was cooked to medium rare perfection and could be pulled apart with a form. My colleage said the prime rib was to-die-for and the wine list was a solid offering.

I also appreciate that the parking was free, many hotels in this area charge for parking, even if you self-park and the self-park lot was a reasonable distance from the entrance.

The city restaurant were amazing also, strongly recommend taking a ride to Historic South Norwalk, which I read about on CNN. Ther is a super market unlinke any I have seem just a short 10 minute walk from the hotel. On the way you'll see a town green and cazino. The area is so beautiful. I really can't say enough positive about this property.

Loved It!

We had an great room and really enjoyed this hotel.. Very comfortable bedding and accomodations with a small refrigerator, wireless internet, and room service on demand... The housekeeping staff was excellent ... We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel each morning and the happy hour was fun too... This was our first trip to Norwalk and Norwalk Inn was just what we were looking for... Laid back, comfortable, friendly and right near IMAX theater and ritzy Westport, CT.
