Definitely go some place else!!! Office manager is rude and very difficult to deal with. Rescheduling fee is $85-$110 even if you were just going in for a cleaning. The office manager seemed to find pleasure in telling me no matter what excuse the doctor would charge the fee. Seems way desperate to make a buck. I understand it's lost business but how about some appropriate level of fee. Disgusted by this.

For starters I am a very easy going person and it is rare that I have negative experiences like this one but this place has definitely left a very bad taste in my mouth. (Ironically.) I am a young, newly married, working professional and upon moving to a new state knew that I had to schedule my husband and I simple cleanings. No problem there. This one was easy to find, and easy to make appointments for. I asked them to verify that my insurance would cover our visits and they assured me yes was the answer.



But right off the bat they seemed disorganized -- couldn't find paperwork, needed to ask us the same questions several times and the entire process took quite some time. The dental hygienist was very rough and to make matters worse not friendly AT ALL. All things I can usually look past and forget about to be honest. But the thing that stuck with me is the $900 bill we got after we both had a simple cleaning done. Once again I called them to ensure there wasn't a mistake as they told me the insurance would cover the cleanings. They said it is my fault I should have checked with the insurance first, there was absolutely nothing they could do and "too bad" in a nutshell.



So that was my very first time getting royally screwed out of a thousand bucks as an adult even though I had dental insurance that would have covered everything. They were so very rude from beginning to end and I encourage you skip past and continue your search for one of the other hundreds of dentists based off of rt 53. It's worth it to look past this place.

Go somewhere else!!!!!! I am new to the area, and needed my bridge replaced. I found Dr. Sowles on the web, and his office was close and covienient. I made an appointment for a consultation, that went fine, he scheduled me to come back to start the work on replacing my bridge. I gave all of my insurance info to the secretary. When I came in for my scheduled visit, I was first told by his assistant that she had made a mistake on the confirmation call, and that my appointment was not for another hour. I then asked the secretary if she had sent a pre estimate to my insurance to see how much of the bridge they would cover. She did not, but proceeded to call the insurance company and got a rough idea. She then calls me up to the desk and says, are you prepared to pay us $1000. today? I took a step back, and thought you have not even touched my mouth yet. I asked her if she could set up a payment plan of 3 payments, as I also did not feel comfortable paying for something that had yet to be done. She stated NO we do not do that. I paused for a moment as she just looked at me with a very serious look. I then said well, maybe I should go somewhere that does, her responce was maybe you should.

I found this office extremely cold, and rude. They obviousely do not care at all about providing patients with good dental care, rather only concerned about getting paid. I realize that is buisness, as it should be. I had no issues giving them money for my services, I just feel the services should atleast be started, if not done, and I have always been able to pay in a few payments for something that expensive. The procedure would take 2 to 3 visits, I was not going anywhere. I had plenty of money to give yet found their demeaner was not that of a place I would like or entrust with my dental needs. I have now found a wonderful office who will be doing my procedure, who is kind gentle, and will help make the payments work for me and him.

So if you want to go to an office who treats their patients only based on the money they can shell out, than Dr Sowles is your guy!!!!
