The second you get their bill PAY IT!! 5 yrs ago, my mom required their services while visiting in the Norwich area. Months later she inquired, with American's office staff, the amount she needed to pay for their services. They repeatedly told her to wait for Medicare to pay -telling her the "government is very slow with payments". Then one day she pulled her credit report and found that American had turned her balance over to a collection agency!! Come to find out, American's office staff ASSUMED my mom had Medicare B due to her being on disability! My mother had Medicare A only and this effected her perfect credit! She immediately contacted AND PAID American Ambulance when she learned what they had done - and begged them to admit they had told her NOT TO PAY and admit their error and fix her credit - they refused, and her credit still remains tarnished!! Recently, at home, she required medical assistance during the night, but refused to call for an ambulance, opting instead to wait until she thought I was up for the day!! I asked her WHY she waited and she cried saying that she didn't trust Ambulance companies because of what American did to her! So again, please don't think twice - pay these people the minute you see their bill - if you have insurance that pays again - so be it - get a refund!!
