Early Intervention Program, coordinated by Enable, is a preventative project that includes developmental, therapeutic and support services for children up to the age of 3 and their families. It serves children with Down's syndrome, spina bifida, and visual and hearing impairments. The program also assists children with metabolic, neurological and chromosonal disorders. Early Intervention Program supports children with developmental delays in their motor, perceptual, language and social skills. In addition, it includes nursing, special education, social work, and physical, occupational, speech and language therapy services. Early Intervention Program offers home visits and center-based developmental groups for children, as well as educational and support groups for their parents.
