Provided by YP.comApple Store for Service? Forget it.
On Saturday, I brought my 2011 Macbook Pro in because it was having serious problems... not booting up. The service technician took my Mac for a test and within 5 minutes, told me the logic board was toast. He also informed me that Apple would cover this $1,000+ repair because of an specific issue affecting my machine.
They received the replacement logic board on Tues (as promised) and I picked it up at 2pm and it is working like a champ. LESS THAN TWO working days in the shop.
The owner, Alan Dworkin, was a hoot to chat with and possesses a wealth of knowledge - he has been an Apple guy since the 80's. Gala-Tec is a family-owned business and it shows - they take pride in their knowledge, service and customer satisfaction. Why wait for a "Genius" somewhere else?

Provided by YP.comMind you, we were looking for another store that used to be here (see end of review)... but they were the new store.
Had a simple repair... hard drive acting flaky, computer was old, but it had personal value. They tried to fix it but couldn't, replaced the hard drive after up sell to solid state (totally unnecessary and no value).
After doing the work, they "found" a bad battery which had to be replaced. Up sold again... have to have a working battery.
Now we show up a week later to pick up the computer... guess what... it doesn't work. They look at it, wait the "NEW" battery they put in was leaking into the computer! They tried to make it out fault for not coming immediately to pick it up (we were gone and told them that ahead of time).
Now, they take it to the back and replace the new broken battery with a new battery and bring it out. Look it works! Nope... mouse is now broken. They jacked that up too. Can't figure out why.
Now this is silly. I tell them I don't wan their tech in the computer and I want the computer back. They remove all the equipment. I want a credit for the work since they damaged the computer with the battery acid. They refuse. They will credit back the hardware that they removed. I asked to split the difference with me. They call the police! The police show up, they understand what is going on, they say there is nothing that can be done for the merchant. I ask for the computer, the store owner refuses.
His son named my partner by name when she walked in! They said they wanted to verify it was really her. By name!
So... we leave without the broken unusable computer due to their incompetence. End of story.
AVOID THIS PLACE.
