Quick and cheap Pan-Asian place. Nothing life-changing but pretty reliable versions of Thai and Vietnamese standards.

I had a lunch date with a friend on a Saturday and she took me to Penny's. She said she came here ocassionally and hadn't been here in a while and I hadn't had non-fast food noodles in a while. I parked in their lot but it was metered parking. Grr, I get out of downtown and get into the 'burbs and still have to deal with parking meters. At least it was cheap. The place was pretty busy but we got seated right away. The place is brightly lit as it has big windows and the place looked clean--I liked it. I got a bowl of noodles with sliced beef sans cilantro and it was very good. The portion was pretty generous, however, at the end of lunch I still felt hungry. Our food came out pretty quickly but our waitress did not check on us more than once and I ran out of Coke for a bit. Prices were a tad high for what you get, IMO, but acceptable. Overall, it was a so-so experience and I might give the Wrigleyville location a try since it's closer to home.
